This room shown below is our polishing room. Contents are: high speed abrasive cut-off wheel with flush coolant, wet/dry belt sander, pneumatic press mount, hydraulic press mount with pre-heated molds, wet/dry flat slate grit table, variable speed rotary wet/dry grit polisher, silk cloth diamond paste rotary polisher, felt cloth aluminum oxide rotary polisher, electrolytic etcher, and fume hood with sink. This room is used for sample preparation of metallurgraphic samples contained in .05 micron finish. The necessary paraphernalia is stored directly below each piece of equipment for easy access. These photographs show the equipment without and with our custom-made covers which are designed to protect the equipment from contamination.
