Below is a view of our Optics room. This room contains two Metallographs (inverted microscopes), Zwick microhardness tester, including necessary optic accessories. The accessories enable microhardness to be performed with loads up to 30kg Vickers, 3kg knoop, and 3kg microburnell. Optics for the Metallographs enable examination and photography to be accomplished at magnifications ranging from 12.5Xto1000X. photography can be accomplished on these machines both by 4X 5 Polaroid and 35mm. Microstructures can be viewed by eye-pieces, viewing screens and by close circuit TV and CRT display.
